NYTB/CHAMBERWORKS HAS JOINED RED SHELL MGMT ROSTER

NYTB/ChamberWorks to Return to National Touring in 2021 - 2022 with Luminous Mixed Repertoire Ballet Programs NEW Option for Presenters: Small Ensemble

(HIGH FALLS, NY)  As of September 1, 2020, NYTB/ChamberWorks, also known as New York Theatre Ballet, has joined the roster of Red Shell Mgmt.  Currently celebrating their 40th Anniversary NYTB/ChamberWorks was founded by Artistic Director Diana Byer to perform small classic masterpieces and new contemporary works for adults and innovative hour-long ballets for young children, all at affordable prices.  The New York City based company, which is in residence at the historic St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery is a venerated gem of New York City*.  “As we begin our 5th decade of dance, we are thrilled to work with Edward in bringing NYTB to audiences new and familiar,” says Diana Byer.

Says Edward Schoelwer, President of Red Shell Mgmt, “For years I have watched NYTB/ChamberWorks and admired their inspired performances of rarely seen ballets by Tudor, de Mille, Robbins, Cunningham, Limón (the list goes on).  Plus, their championship of contemporary choreographers like Pam Tanowitz and Richard Alston and their Once Upon a Ballet Series (versions of classic story ballets like The Nutcracker that clock-in at 1-hour in length—great for young audiences) makes them uniquely suited for serving the needs of a variety of venues across North America and world-wide.”

The NYTB/ChamberWorks administration is hopeful that the health conditions that prevent national and international touring presently will be resolved in time for touring in the 2021 - 2022 season.  They also expect that presenters will face tighter budgets and will seek more economical options.  To that end, a 6-person chamber ballet ensemble tour is being developed.  Under usual circumstances NYTB/ChamberWorks tours with 12 dance artists and the necessary number of musicians required by the repertoire.

“We have been pleased to present the New York Theatre Ballet nearly every season for the past two decades….we will continue to invite NYTB to our community every year,” writes Peter Lesser the executive director of “The Egg” at New York StatePlaza, Albany, NY.  NYTB/ChamberWorks has a long and distinguished history of offering outstanding performances on the road—it is Red Shell Mgmt’s intention to reinvigorate their national and international touring.

Red Shell Mgmt is a cultural resource for presenters and promoters of cultural attractions to learn more about and engage select touring projects and touring dance companies with a legacy of excellent artistry and educational and social missions.  Associated with Dance Theatre of Harlem from 1990 to 2020, Edward Schoelwer founded Red Shell in 2018.  Limón Dance Company, Collage Dance Collective, Rhapsody in Black and NYTB/ChamberWorks make up the boutique roster.  The company can be found at https://www.redshellmgmt.org.

Let the light of the touring artist replace the darkness of despair!

Freelance Web & Graphic Designer

Recently I began taking inventory of my life, recognizing the shifts I could make to lessen my personal consumption and impact. Since we spend a quarter of our lives working, that was certainly an area demanding attention. So I left retail and begin my career freelancing for small businesses whose higher purpose transcends profit.

I believe in employing my skills and energy to empower others working to create positive change in our world. I support too-swamped entrepreneurs by breathing life into their brands and websites, allowing them to focus on the important work at hand. At the same time, I get to nurture my own entrepreneurial spirit while being creative and building truly meaningful relationships throughout my community.

I strive to inform, delight and inspire by balancing content with design. I consider the details without losing sight of the big picture. I aim to see around corners while staying focused on the moment. I'm self directed but have over a decade of experience successfully working with teams. And while I've surely got bills to pay, I know it's my social responsibility to be selective about where I put my energy.
